"La Vie en Rose"
"La Vie en Rose", from the title of a famous song by Edith Piaf, is an all-female quartet comprising of two violinists, one pianist and a vocalist (incidentally, the latter is EMT).
Its repertoire ranges from classical to jazz and from swing to contemporary music. It includes also some pieces from musicals and operettas, as well as a couple of the coolest pop hits from the last decades, which have, rightly, gained the status of contemporary classics.
"La Vie en Rose" is a versatile group and is able to play appealing music all through long receptions too. The quartet can split into different duos (two violins, or piano and violin, or vocalist and piano) and the pianist can also play alone, so as to keep varying both the sound and the repertoire.
Among the most popular titles of its repertoire there are The Entertainer (from the film "The Sting"), Smoke gets in your Eyes, Over the Rainbow, Summertime, Don't Cry for me Argentina (from the musical "Evita") as well as, needless to say, La Vie en Rose!
The quartet loves to play at wedding ceremonies, both religious and civil, where it may perform solemn marches, famous Ave Maria's and poignant adagios.
